this needs javascript
the scoring runs in your browser, because there is no server to run it on. the script shows
the questions, keeps your answers in this tab's sessionStorage so a refresh does
not lose them, and does the arithmetic. it requests nothing but the data files sitting beside
it.
the parts worth reading do not need it:
rubric — every filter, weight and penalty, and the
coverage table including the gaps
method — what the research rests on and the ai

purpose — why this site exists, and why phones are the exception
tools.json and rubric.json —
the database and the scoring model as plain files
the rubric is simple enough to work by hand: pick your main problem, find the tools that
address it on a platform you use, and compare where they sit on four or five axes against
where you sit.
nothing here is transmitted. your answers stay in this browser tab —
not a server, not the address bar, not your browser history. closing the tab discards them.
